Welder (Journeyman)

Location: Bruderheim, AB (approximately 12 km north of Bruderheim on Range Road 204)

Work Schedule: Shifts are normally 10 hours, M-F. NOT a camp position. MUST live in the area, or be willing to commute. On-call and longer shift work may occur when site demands change (ex. Spring plant startup)  **This is not a rig position, we supply all equipment & trucks**

Rate of Pay: $35.84 (Apprentice)+ $47.79 (Journeyman)+

Essential: Reliable, hard-working, safety conscious, team player, ability to work a flexible schedule and long days.

Journeyman Welder Requirement’s:

• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support.
• Successful candidates are required to have personal reliable transportation, valid driver’s license
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing which would be swab or urine depending on site requirements.
• Computer skills, including but not limited to Excel, word, and outlook
• Candidates must successfully complete Sil Industrial Minerals Orientation, Site Specific Orientation as well as any other fit for work testing.

Journeyman Welder Responsibilities:

• Welding repairs on structural steel components and maintenance repairs
• Weld, fit, cut, grind and finish steel and aluminum
• Ensure all installations and repairs are completed in a timely manner
• Participate as a vital team member, and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.
• Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.

Journeyman Welder Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Journeyman or Red Seal Equivalent Welding Ticket
• Ability to repair and construct new fabrication is required
• Excellent problem-solving skills required.
• Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
• Must have proven ability to work in tight spots.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
• Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
